Our Alpenruhe guest house is located on Oberstdorf's perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails. Directly from the ski room, just 20 meters into the field, and the 76 km cross-country ski network begins around Oberstdorf, leading into the charming Stillachtal and Trettachtal valleys.
The well-known Allgäu ski areas (Nebelhorn, Fellhorn/Kanzelwand, Söllereck, and many more) await you nearby, with difficulty levels for all levels of skiers. It only takes a few minutes by car.
In the sunny, peaceful south, where you will find our guest house, the most wonderful winter hiking trails also begin. A network of over 140 km of cleared and well-maintained winter hiking trails will transport you to impressive spots amidst nature and invite you to enjoy relaxing winter fun.

- The nearby ski schools with rentals provide all your equipment. Ski and snowboard courses are available for all ages and skill levels.
- Our "home trail" is connected to the cross-country ski stadium in Ried, the venue for national and international cross-country skiing competitions.
Alternatives to the ski slopes...
Oberstdorf also offers more than just wonderful hiking experiences for non-skiers. With several toboggan runs with lifts (including night tobogganing), the ice sports center, horse-drawn sleigh rides into the side valleys, curling at the nearby Moorweiher lake, and numerous other activities, there are plenty of alternatives. Snowshoes can also be rented at many locations in Oberstdorf. Or you can simply enjoy the magnificent view of the snowy mountains from your room.
