...and welcome to the Alpenruhe***! We are delighted that you are spending your holidays in Oberstdorf and have chosen the Alpenruhe as your holiday destination!

We would like to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. Below, you will find some information about our hotel and other useful things, especially the AllgäuWalser PremiumCard, listed under A to Z. We hope you enjoy reading.

 

Registration
You will receive your registration form at reception. Please check and sign the registration form. You will receive the AllgäuWalser PremiumCard as your personal guest card. Data protection information regarding the registration form can be found at the end of this information folder.

 

Dinner
We are happy to welcome you to our restaurant for hotel guests from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. As part of our half-board package, we offer a four-course dinner with a choice of three main courses from Monday to Saturday. We ask that you pre-order this at breakfast time.

On Sundays, we give our kitchen a short break (see also "Half Board").

If you have any food intolerances, please contact reception before your first meal so that we can accommodate your personal needs as best we can. Thank you.

 

Departure
Upon departure, we ask that you vacate your room by 11:00 a.m. Thank you.
Do you need assistance with your luggage? Please let us know.

 

AllgäuWalserPremiumCard
You can obtain this at reception. The AllgäuWalserPremiumCard is personal and expires on the day of departure. Please treat the AllgäuWalserPremiumCard with care and return it on the day of departure. Loss or damage to the card will result in a €20.00 charge.

The AllgäuWalserPremiumCard offers many attractive discounts throughout the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal valleys, for example, at the Breitachklamm Gorge, the local history museum, the ski jumping arena, and the ski flying hill. Further information can be found in your "mehrWERT" flyer.

From May to November, free use of the mountain railways can be added to your AllgäuWalserPremiumCard upon request (see "Mountain Railways").

For all bus and train lines in the southern Oberallgäu and Kleinwalsertal valleys, we recommend the affordable holiday card, which you can have added to your guest card at reception. We will add the cost of the holiday card to your room bill. We would be happy to provide you with further information.

 

Recreational Rooms
You can relax at any time in our recreational rooms – fireplace room, winter garden, and library. We are happy to serve coffee specialties, fine teas, small snacks and ice cream in the afternoon, as well as drinks in the evening until 10 p.m. (see also “Café”). Car/Parking
You can park your car in any marked space in our parking areas around the hotel. Please do not park on the street; parking is prohibited there.

You can park for free with your AllgäuWalserPremiumCard in the following parking lots: Fellhornbahn, Faistenoy, Skiflugschanze, and P1 and P2 at the town entrance. There, please take a day ticket from the parking meter and display it visibly in your car. Further information can be found in your "MehrWERT" flyer.

"Take a vacation from your own car!"
Our tip: Use the affordable holiday ticket for buses and trains (see "Bus&Train") and marvel at the excellent bus network in the Allgäu and Kleinwalsertal.

 

Bathrobe
You can rent a bathrobe from us for the duration of your stay for €5.00. Please keep € A €20 deposit is required. Slippers are available free of charge.

 

Balcony
Cushions for the balcony furniture can be found in your closet. We ask that you close the parasol at night. Please do not store food on the balcony. There are thieving crows here. Please do not feed birds on the balcony. Thank you.

 

Mountain Railways
During the summer season from May to November, our guests enjoy free travel on up to 8 mountain railways in Oberstdorf and Kleinwalsertal every day! Wonderful, easily accessible mountain trails await you. The mountain railway ticket can be added to your AllgäuWalserPremiumCard free of charge upon request. You are welcome to obtain further information at the reception. The general terms and conditions of carriage for the mountain railways are available for inspection in the library.

 

Bed
Your bed has a height-adjustable slatted frame at the head and foot ends. We will adjust this to your requirements upon request. We also have additional or different pillows and Duvets and feather-free bedding are provided.

 

Organic waste
There is a bin on each floor for compostable items, such as fruit scraps etc. We ask that you dispose of these there without packaging. We thank you for your cooperation.

 

Books and Games
If you are looking for a good book, playing cards, or other entertaining games, you can borrow them all from our in-house library next to the fireplace room.

 

Bus & Train
You can add the affordable holiday ticket for all bus and train lines in the southern Oberallgäu and Kleinwalsertal to your AllgäuWalserPremiumCard for 4, 7, or 14 consecutive days at reception.

All buses depart daily from the train station square. The bus to the Stillachtal (and thus also to the Fellhornbahn and Birgsau) and the fee-based summer Trettach line to Spielmannsau have a stop near the Loretto Chapels, which you can reach in about a 6-minute walk south from the hotel.
Please note that without a holiday ticket, all bus and train lines are subject to a fee. Only the local bus line from the train station to the Nebelhornbahn cable car and back is free.

 

Café
Except on restaurant closing days, we offer a special menu of coffee specialties, fine teas, and small snacks, as well as refreshing ice cream sundaes, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the winter garden, and in warm weather also on the terrace. You are welcome to help yourself to our cake buffet free of charge as part of the Alpenruhe half-board package. However, there is no reimbursement for uneaten cakes.

 

Meal Times

Breakfast buffet: from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM
Cakes from the buffet, coffee, and tea: from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Other drinks: from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Dinner: from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

In the restaurant and winter garden, you will always be seated at a reserved table. We will show you there at the beginning. If you would like to have breakfast earlier or attend an evening event and therefore need to eat earlier, please let us know.

 

Bicycles
Our rental bicycles (7-speed ladies' bikes) are available for a small fee during the warmer months. You can get the key at reception.

If you bring your own bike, you can store it in the lockable bicycle shed in the courtyard. Washing facilities and tools are also available. Please report to reception.

 

Television, Radio
Your room is equipped with a television with a satellite receiver. Please note the remote control instructions for turning the television on and off, and please don't be surprised if the remote control takes a little longer to respond.

You can also use the television to listen to numerous radio stations after watching the TV programs or by pressing the "Radio" button.
In some rooms, the television will only work if the master switch by the entrance door is turned on.

 

Fitness Room
The fitness room is located in the basement and is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Use of the equipment is free of charge. Children under 14 years of age may only use the equipment if accompanied by an adult. Use of the room is at your own risk. We assume no liability.

 

Breakfast
The breakfast buffet is available in the restaurant from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. We look forward to welcoming you to our extensive breakfast. If you would like to take something with you for the day, we can prepare sandwiches for you in the kitchen for a fee. Please contact the reception or a member of staff in advance if possible. We recommend relaxing at one of the numerous surrounding restaurants and alpine huts!

 

Garden
In summer, sun loungers are available in the garden. Cushions, towels, and parasols can be found in the garden house. Please note that a webcam at the garden house points towards the eastern lawn. It records one still image per hour, which is published online on our website. No people are recognizable in the images.

 

Half Board
Enjoy our "Alpenruhe Half Board." Cakes from the buffet are served in the afternoon, and a creative four-course menu with three different main courses to choose from in the evening. We ask that you pre-order the dinner menu at breakfast time. Payment is only made on days when the kitchen is closed. Drinks are not included in half board.

 

Towels
Please decide: A towel on the floor means "Please replace." A towel on the rack means "I'll use it again for the sake of the environment." You are welcome to use our provided paper facial tissues as makeup remover.
If you need a towel while away from home, we will be happy to provide you with an extra bath towel. Towels for the lounge chairs in the garden are available in the garden house.

 

Heating
During the heating season, we ask you to turn down the heating before leaving your room for an extended period. We recommend position 3 and ask you to close the windows.

How to ventilate properly: Please ensure that you have sufficient air circulation several times a day by briefly opening the windows. Open the windows to allow for a fresh draft and turn off the radiators. The stale air will be replaced in just 5 minutes. Thank you.

 

Toiletries
We have the following items for sale: toothbrush, toothpaste, disposable razor.

 

Ideas
Nobody is perfect, not even us. Despite our best efforts, we may have forgotten something. Therefore, constructive suggestions on what and how we could perhaps improve are always welcome.

Internet
Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. You will receive an access code for the duration of your stay at the reception desk.
In case of problems with your mobile device, we will be happy to organize IT support at the usual local hourly rates upon request.

 

Suitcases
If you need assistance with your luggage, we will be happy to assist you. If you would like us to store your luggage, please let us know.

 

Lights and Electricity
In most double rooms, the lamps and television will only work after you have operated the master switch in the entrance area. The sockets by the bedside table cannot be switched off!
We politely ask you to turn off the lights or, if necessary, the master switch before leaving your room. Thank you.

 

Minibar
A central self-service minibar, consisting of a drinks refrigerator and a snack cabinet, is located in the room in front of the restaurant. A price list is available. Please note the drinks and snacks you have used on the list provided. A receipt will be issued for this (see "Receipts").

Please do not store food or medication in the refrigerator. Please contact us if necessary. You are welcome to leave any souvenirs you'd like to bring home, such as cheese. We will keep them in our refrigerator until your departure day.

 

Emergency Call
If necessary, please dial 112 from your phone for:

• the emergency services (in life-threatening emergencies)
• the on-call medical service (116 117)
• the fire department and police (112)

You can reach us day and night at 999.

 

Post Office Box
We will place mail and any messages in your mailbox to the left of reception.

 

Post Office Box
The post office box is located next to the postcards in the entrance hall. Cards and letters left there will be delivered to the post office at 3:00 PM on weekdays. Postcards and stamps are available at reception. Postcards from Alpenruhe are, of course, free of charge.

 

Local map, brochures
Detailed information about Oberstdorf, hiking opportunities, timetables, etc. can be found on our notice board to the left of the reception. Hiking and cross-country ski maps, as well as weekly bus passes and ski passes, are available for purchase at the reception.

 

Radio
A radio with descriptions is available at your bedside table.
You can also listen to the radio on your television (see "Television, Radio").

 

Smoking
Alpenruhe is a non-smoking house. We are pleased that our guests adhere to this policy. A smoking table is available at any time in the garden house.

 

Bill
You can settle your bill the day before or on the day of your departure in cash or by debit card. We do not accept credit cards.
The bill also includes the food and beverages booked for your room and documented by the individual consumption vouchers (see there), as well as the tourist tax. Any telephone charges you will have to pay will be added to the bill if you used the telephone in your room for external calls.

 

Umbrella
Should the weather not cooperate, we are happy to lend you our umbrellas. You will find them at the hotel entrance. We ask that you return them so that other weather-damaged guests can use them later.

 

Restaurant Closed Day
Our coffee and evening kitchen are usually closed on Sundays and Mondays. In winter, the kitchen is closed only on Sundays.

 

Reception
If you have any requests or concerns, we will be happy to assist you at the reception. It is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. As a family business, we may occasionally be working elsewhere in the hotel. In such cases, please ring the reception bell. We will be there for you immediately. You can reach us by phone at the hotel number 999.

 

Quiet Times
Please respect the quiet times from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 10:00 p.m. onwards.
Please set your television and radio to a minimum volume. Thank you!


Safe
A safe is located in your room's wardrobe. You can obtain the key free of charge from reception.

Sauna, steam bath, infrared heat
Visit our soothing wellness area in the pleasantly bright basement. There, you'll find an infrared cabin, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a Kneipp pool for arms and feet, and a cozy relaxation room. The wellness area is open from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please register at reception. You can reserve the sauna or steam bath privately for approximately two hours at your preferred time. Towels are, of course, available in the wellness area. A sauna or steam bath visit costs €6.00, or €8.00 for two people.

During the cold season, sauna use is usually only available communally after 4:00 p.m. 

The soothing, health-promoting infrared cabin (40° to 45°) with its infrared heat is specifically designed for muscle relaxation after extensive hikes or a long day of skiing. The heat cabin can also be rented at reception for a preferred time. This costs €6.00 ​​for 1 or 2 people for 20-30 minutes.

 

Shoe Shine Machine
There is a shoe shine machine in the entrance area. There are also shoe shine supplies and a sink in the boot room, as well as a shoe shine station for hiking boots at the rear entrance.

 

Boot Room
There is a heated boot room for hiking boots and ski boots in the basement with a modern boot dryer/air dryer. The automatic low-temperature operation ensures that your boots dry slowly overnight and are at a comfortable temperature in the morning. The boot room can be reached via the stairs to the basement or via the ramp at the rear entrance. Please bring your room key so that you can unlock and lock the door to the ramp if necessary.

We politely ask you not to walk through the building wearing hiking boots or ski boots. Slippers are available free of charge at the reception.
You can also dry wet clothes in the boot room.

 

Skis
You can store your skis in the hallway in front of the boot room in the basement. Ski boots are available in the heated ski room (see "Boot Room").

The local ski schools offer a wide range of private and group lessons. We are happy to help you choose. You can have your ski pass added to your AllgäuWalserCard at the reception.

We offer our alpine skiers a free hotel shuttle to the Nebelhornbahn and Fellhornbahn lifts. Please contact the reception for further information.

The access to the cross-country ski trail is located at our parking lot behind the house.

 

Games
Cards and games are available for loan in our library next to the fireplace room.

 

Telephone
Your telephone is a direct-dial telephone for local and long-distance calls, as well as for internal calls.
Operating instructions are located in the notebook next to the telephone. You can also be called directly. The direct dial number is 08322-9683- and the room number. For single-digit room numbers, please dial a 3 before the room number (e.g., Room 3 = 08322-9683-33).
Internal calls are free of charge. Simply dial the respective room number; only for single-digit room numbers, please dial a 3 before the room number (e.g., Room 5 = 35).
The charges for external telephone calls made from your room are automatically recorded. The telephone charges you pay will be added to the total amount due upon departure (see "Invoice").

 

Terrace
It is wonderful to linger in our winter garden and, in summer, on the terrace. Except on the restaurant's closing days, we are happy to serve coffee specialties and drinks there in the afternoon. As part of the half-board package, cakes are also available from a small buffet (see "Café"). The terrace is closed from 10 p.m. onwards. Please understand.

 

Table Requests
We will try to accommodate your table requests as best we can. We apologize if this doesn't always work out as planned.
If you're planning to be invited for coffee or dinner, please let us know in advance.

 

Animals
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets.

 

Tourist Information
There are two tourist information offices in Oberstdorf, one in the "Oberstdorf Haus" near the spa gardens, the other at Bahnhofsplatz. The tourist information offices are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, the tourist information office in the Oberstdorf Haus is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

 

Food and Drink Vouchers
For all meals, unless included in the half-board package, and for all drinks, a daily food and drink voucher is issued, the final amount of which is automatically charged to your room. You will find the voucher on the breakfast table the following day for your inspection. Please check these receipts daily and report any discrepancies to reception. Unfortunately, we cannot accept complaints after this time.

 

Laundry Service
You will find the price list in your room. You can obtain a laundry bag from our chambermaids or at reception. Please hand in the laundry bag. Please contact reception. Please understand that we require 24 hours for laundry service.

 

Wake-up Service
You are welcome to inform reception of your preferred wake-up time the day before. Your clock radio also has an alarm function.

 

Weather Information
From 9:00 a.m. in the morning, you will find current weather information, a hiking trail report, and, in winter, a cross-country ski and ski slope report in the lobby.

 

Hiking
Please wear sturdy footwear for your hikes. We lend hiking poles free of charge for a deposit of €20.00 per pair. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about hiking.

 

Chamberkeepers
Our long-serving chamberkeepers rotate between the different floors in the mornings. Please use the sign "Please tidy your room." If you have any requests or concerns, such as raising the bed, needing an extra pillow, a non-slip mat for the shower, etc., please contact the chamberkeepers or reception.

 

Room Key
Your room key also serves as the key to our front doors and the boot/ski room. Please carry it with you at all times. You are welcome to request a spare key. Please do not allow anyone you do not know into the house without a key. Please lock the front doors after 11:00 PM.
