Wonderful walks between blooming meadows and small, traffic-free paths around the climatic health resort of Oberstdorf at an altitude of 815 m. A network of over 200 km of well-maintained hiking trails of all levels of difficulty awaits you at three altitudes. Guided hikes, a variety of Nordic walking trails, challenging mountain tours, and daring climbing tours are offered daily in the resort. Those who want even more can enjoy guided outdoor excursions to the peaks or rafting on the Iller River. The climbing garden and indoor climbing hall also have a lot to offer. There's plenty to discover.
At Alpenruhe, you can rent touring bikes or store your own bike in the lockable Radlstadl (bike shed). Then it's off into the valleys around Oberstdorf, along steep alpine paths, forest roads, or gently ascending, specially created bike paths. Good to know: Electric bike rentals and battery exchange stations are also located in Oberstdorf and the surrounding area.

Our Alpenruhe guest house is located on Oberstdorf's perfectly groomed cross-country ski trails. Directly from the ski room, just 20 meters across the property, the 76 km cross-country ski network around Oberstdorf begins, leading into the charming Stillachtal and Trettachtal valleys.
In the sunny, peaceful south, where you will find our guest house, the most wonderful winter hiking trails also begin. A network of over 140 km of cleared and well-maintained winter hiking trails will transport you to impressive spots amidst nature and invite you to enjoy relaxing winter fun.
In the nearby area, the well-known Allgäu ski resorts (Nebelhorn, Fellhorn/Kanzelwand, Söllereck, and many more) await you, with difficulty levels for all levels of skiers. It's only a few minutes by car.
Oberstdorf also offers more than just wonderful hiking experiences for non-skiers. With a horse-drawn sleigh ride into the side valleys, ice skating, curling at the nearby Moorweiher pond, and numerous other activities, there are plenty of alternatives. Snowshoes can also be rented at many locations in Oberstdorf. Or you can simply enjoy the magnificent view of the snowy mountains from your room.
